Headquarters of ACHA to Be Established in Beijing
On May 18, the signing ceremony of the Framework Agreement between the Alliance for Cultural Heritage in Asia (ACHA) and the People's Government of Beijing Municipality on the Establishment of the ACHA Headquarters in Beijing was held at the main venue of the 2025 International Museum Day in China.
According to the Agreement, the People's Government of Beijing Municipality will provide convenient services for the establishment of ACHA's headquarters, such as registration and hosting of international conferences and events. And ACHA will support Beijing's protection and inheritance project of cultural heritage, Beijing's participation in the protection of cultural heritage in Asia, and its involvement in related international conferences and thematic exchange activities. In addition, ACHA will also strengthen cooperation with the People's Government of Beijing Municipality on international exchange and cooperation including scientific research, social practice, talent cultivation, and cultural exchanges.
ACHA, initiated by ten countries including China, boasts the first and only intergovernmental international organization in Asia in the field of cultural heritage. Since its inception in 2023, it has received active response and participation from Asian countries and beyond. Currently, it has 20 member states, partner states and observer states, covering all regions in Asia with its influence extending to other continents.
The signing of this Agreement marks the official establishment of ACHA, an intergovernmental international organization, in Beijing. It will serve as an important platform and provide key channels for Beijing's international cultural heritage exchanges and cooperation. |
