China's lottery sales for November up 37%: figures BEIJING, Dec. 20 (Xinhua) -- China's lottery sales for November rose 36.9 percent year on year to 16.02 billion yuan (2.4 billion U.S. dollars), the Ministry of Finance (MOF) announced Monday.
The November figure took sales of lottery tickets in the first 11 months of the year to 149.06 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 25.1 percent, the MOF said in a statement on its website.
Sales of welfare lottery tickets in the first 11 months jumped 27.1 percent year on year to 86.57 billion yuan while sales of sports lottery tickets rose 22.4 percent year on year to 62.49 billion yuan.
According to China's Regulations on Lottery Management, money raised through lotteries is divided into three parts: the jackpot, lottery management fees, and lottery public funds.
